Avid Readers, Measurement and the SMS Animal Hospital

We have been super busy in the Seal Class!  

We are learning about:

• how to write How To books
• becoming avid readers 
• measuring and comparing measurements
• how vinegar changes an egg shell
• adding and subtracting numbers through 5
• finding blends in our reading

Some activities we did:

• did a draw along seal
• measured each other with sticky notes
• practiced math facts
• put eggs in vinegar and observed the changes to the shell
• built with dominoes
• illustrated a spring poem for our poetry journals
• started reading our first chapter book Fantastic Mr. Fox
• turned our classroom into the SMS animal hospital complete with a make your own cast and bandage center
