    Spelling

Beginning this week, each Seal will have a list of spelling words to practice.  The words will be based on spelling patterns that each child is working on.  Learning the spelling patterns will be more important than learning the words.  Each Friday, your child will be tested on five words that will follow the same spelling pattern.  I will also include two sight words each week.  These will be words that your child is using in their writing.

Some ways to practice spelling words at home:

Rainbow words- write the words in different colors.
Fancy fingers- use your fingers to write your words with curly or fancy letters.
Cheer or sing your spelling words.
Use your words to make silly sentences.
Go to the website www.spellingcity.com, type in your spelling words to play spelling games.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
