Visit from the SPCA

We have so many exciting things happening in the first grade!  We will be starting book groups this week.  They will be interest based series books.  If your Seal has a book or  books from home that they would like to bring in, they are more than welcome to.   We have also conducted lots of Science experiments and have been writing about them in our Science journals.  There are many events in the last six weeks of school.  Be sure to check out the upcoming events.

We are learning about:

• how to be a close reader to find important details in our books
• adding three numbers
• adding and subtracting multiples of tens
• 3-D shapes
• weather
• writing non fiction All About Books
• how Scientists write about their experiments

• SMS Wellness Walk on Wednesday, May 7th at 1:30 pm  (You are welcome to join us!)
• SMS Bike to school day Wednesday May 7
• Early Release on Wednesday, May 14th at 12:50 (Teacher In-Service)
