On Friday, your child will be bringing a note home explaining "book bags."  The children have been working hard on using all of their super powers to read books in our classroom library.  To celebrate this accomplishment, the children will start bringing books home every Tuesday to read to you,  Books should be returned on Thursday.  Look for more information in your child's folder on Friday.

Happy Reading!

We will be attending the  Elephant and Piggie show at The Portsmouth Music Hall on March 22, 2017.  In order to assist the office staff, we are sending the permission slip home early and respectfully request the money and permission slips be returned as soon as possible, even though the deadline for them isn't until March 16th.  We can take up to 5 chaperones with us.  If you would like to join us, please send in payment for both you AND your child.  Chaperones will be selected on a first come first serve basis.   We are attending the 11:30 show, so the children will eat a VERY late lunch that day.  Be sure to have your child eat  breakfast and pack a few extra snacks.    The permission slip will be sent home on Friday.  Thank you!

This week in Kindergarten

Hello Seal Families!

We have been busy in kindergarten!

We are building bigger reading muscles by reading bigger books.  We are tackling more challenging books by noticing the patterns to help us read almost every page!

In writer's workshop we are back to writing true stories.  We are working on making our writing easier for our readers by putting spaces between words.  We are also practicing stretching words out so that we get all of the sounds we hear on paper.  We even created our own anchor charts to help us remember.

We have been doing lots of measuring in math workshop!  We are comparing the lengths and heights of snowmen and arctic animals;  experimenting with volume at the water table and looking at different weights.  We played the card game top it (like War) which we loved!
